Katy Kessler
Katy (she/her) is a Master’s of English student at Villanova University. She graduated from West Virginia University in the fall of 2023 with a BA in English and Philosophy. Since coming to Villanova’ Katy’s interests have grown to include medieval literature, postmodern literature, and, most recently, medical humanities. When she’s not reading, Katy enjoys cooking, hiking, creative writing, and watching movies. Since joining the Taught by Literature project, Katy has worked to create middle school classroom materials to expand student and teacher access to Black history. While creating these materials, Katy has gained a deeper understanding of the power and importance of recovering underrepresented voices. She looks forward to continuing her work with TBL and to seeing the project expand.
